Knowledge Repository Site Administrator

LAC Federal is looking for an experienced Knowledge Repository Site Administrator to lead a team of information professionals in developing and managing an extensive Federal knowledge base and repository and providing a wide range of reference and instructional support services.  The Administrator will coordinate the work of between 5-10 staff members a Federal library that supports a Department of Defense educational institute. Work will be performed on-site. This is a full-time (40 hours per week; Monday - Friday), benefited position.
The work primarily consists in maintaining and developing the Knowledge Repository working with Federal and contract staff to configure and maintain the systems and databases which constitute the Repository.   The Administrator will perform many of the specific functions listed below but will also manage a team including systems librarians, taxonomists, data gatherers, and reference specialists in performing the work.  Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: 
  • Systems administration for an installation of Sirsi Dynix Symphony
  • Design, development and maintenance of the Repository websites including ensuring that all sites meet Section 508 accessibility standards
  • Development and/or integration of data visualization tools
  • User training on Repository systems and technology; general training and outreach to user groups
  • Database administration and acting as liaision to IT support staff to resolve technical issues
  • Enterprise taxonomy development and implementation
  • Support of research and reference services including the development of user guides, bibliographies, LibGuide subject portals, newsletters and other information products
  • Develop and maintain an intranet site 
  • A graduate degree in either Information Management or Library and Information Science
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of web content management
  • Extensive experience in integrated library systems, especially SirsiDynix Symphony
  • Experience in developing and maintaining websites in SharePoint 2013
  • A background in business and/or acquisition metadata
  • Familiarity with DoD policies and procedures particular Acquisition Regulations
